Decorational Glitz - ME time
Lately I haven't had much of 'me-time' as my life has been swamped in many a pursuit, and plenty of crocodiles - the nasty type. Just a few days (I can even name the date) after writing the last post, ironically just the very thing I was trying to avoid like the plague came straight into my life, i.e. messed up situations. Thank goodness certain horrors have now passed, which is why I'm quite enjoying 'me-time' and discovering whatever that is supposed to mean. I certainly haven't 'found myself' as I didn't go anywhere. Well, I did, and it was a dream come true; a fairy-tale destination truly fit for a Princess. I heard writing helps the intellect, so perhaps I will find my brain. At least my heart could have a much-needed rest: or I should lock it away for the rest of the summer and truly award myself a break.
I've been reading books no longer in print, listening to songs I like from artists people have probably never heard of (on continuous repeat) and generally trying to avoid negative headlines. I don't mind the heat so much as the humidity, which is ever so unpleasant - for obvious, vanity reasons. If I could waltz around town in a pair of jogging bottoms and a T-shirt I wouldn't really mind. But you can't even do that on the weekend in your local shop.
I had a perfect 'me-weekend' last weekend where I went on a little outing all by myself to one of my secret spots...it was just really pleasant to choose to be somewhere on my own and not have to feel guilty or sad at not having the company of a friend to join me - the best thing is that I was left in peace and felt secure, unlike most times I am unaccompanied - or in a busy place.
It's nice to think about 'me' for a change - it's almost like an escape. I do like the word 'escapade'...

Some of the best books are no longer in print. That sounds like a good weekend :)
If only I could find a smiley with a big grin to demonstrate my happiness at your comment...'paraglider' was on my mind the moment I opened this page. HA HA! I've been keeping up-to-date with your writings.
I think it's best not to detail the kind of books I've been reading - if they are no longer in print, it's probably because they contain old-fashioned feminst advice, which is so current (no matter the age!), and 'updated' in more modern versions.
