Customer disservice
I thought twice about posting this, because if it weren't me, it might appear as quite mundane. What the heck, I'll write about it.
I went to "an office" and was directed "upstairs". Gosh, the lift was quite slow. I exited, and asked the unfortunate woman walking rushedly down the aisle, where the department was that I was seeking.
Eventually, I reached it, and (rhetorical questions get you far) I asked if this was the department I was looking for. It was an unspoken "yes". How do I know? The lady on the counter whom I asked, who was closest to me when I approached for assistance, "looked at" her colleague farther away, and he gave the approval: "YOU DEAL WITH HER, IT'S OK".
(You'd need some cultural understanding to get the scene and language I've referred to)
How does one deal with such experiences? Does there come a time when you shut your eyes or speak your mind? Which is better, and why?
I figured the Indian guy and Egyptian lady who chose to serve me (nationalities are not important, are they) are probably not happy in their jobs, but for one second, they should step out of their shoes and understand if they were in my shoes, they would probably not want to be treated in the way they treated me.
This time, I kept my mouth shut, knowing "what goes around, comes around".

you are right referring to communication between individuals,
you are less right, when it comes to communication in mass media,
good news doesn’t sell, however bad news very well. Alas!
*joy be upon us all
I am neither right nor wrong...
Good & bad news sells everywhere, & this post is about bad news hopefully not being bad, I hope.
News is never good. Am I wrong?
I see you also went to 'Alia Insurance Co.' in Deira :)
Don't let them get away with it. Never. Shout, call for the manager and get those dimwits fired, or promoted to janitor. Always insinuate, as my wife does, that they made comments about nationality or waistline and that you work 'in media'.
That normally gets the manager out in a rash and swift service is ensured.
Wow! I was talking to the Honda Service center over the phone while I opened your blog page! How coincidental is that? hehe.
I take so much pride in my driving and being careful with my car, which I treat like my wife :P Today, while parking in a really tight spot, I scraped the bumper against the wall and got some paint scratched off my front bumper :((( And I was thinking of selling this car off in the next couple of months and buy a cooler car :( I hate myself :(
Perhaps they are unhappy, having to work when it's vacation period :) or maybe they had a heavy lunch and need a siesta?
From my experience there's really no point in complaining and/or shouting because nothing really gets solved and turns out to be a waste of time.
In my opinion it's best to just keep your cool and forget about it. Although that's very difficult to do sometimes!
