Faulty & Fantastic

Take that snap; pose. I'm posing in the place you wanted us to.

You were dreaming & we were 16 (years old); we had no idea what was going on. You could close your eyes and live the life you dreamt you were in: yet you took snaps of us. For love? Memories? You were not us. We dreamt of being of you, before & after we had grown up.

You were tall, blonde, prettyish, prone to things that were "not the norm".

I look back on the awesome photos you took of us by the River: Madam, were you not lonely? Did you not crave the company of the gentleman that rowed by my side on that dreadful kayak? Did you not want everything I could have had before you knew what I had was what you wanted?

*****

The blonde teacher was a magnificent wonder. I have never thought of her like I have done here. I will keep writing about her as she was an inspiration.

She used to breakfast on "crunchy nut cornflakes" (enough said - she encouraged us to "eat healthy").

Once, she issued me with a "yellow ticket" - a yellow ticket was a sign to the Headmaster that "this person" was to "watch out" for.
"After a series of "yellow tickets" from various tutors, the Headmaster left a comment on my final report that influenced me for life."

Ms. Tall, long-legged French-teacher was just one of us, being close to our age, but commanded respect, because she was a woman, and admitted, subtlely, that she had been a woman in the same way as us unsuspecting "senior" ladies had been. May I say, she was just "one of us", which made us love her more.

Her curly blond locks, and intention to be liked amongst the "senior" guys, she was the epitome of "blond girl who gets what she wants" because she damn well didn't ask what she wanted: what she asked; us youngsters (mostly males) followed.

I salute a blonde lady who wasn't the best of French teachers who taught us the language through her life imperfections, that was learned through her linguistical faults.

Through her, on parle francais...un petit peu...et au revoir :)
