Daynight robbery

I don't really feel like talking about it or addressing it, but I feel recent events have bothered me, upset my foundations of security.

My feeling must be shared by the majority. How could they do this? Why did they do it? How come they did it here? Where are they? Have they been caught? Am I still safe? Are you still safe? Who are these people? Why are they here? How dare they do this? Will they get away with it? A thousand other questions. Did this happen? I wish it didn't.

OMG! I'm really concerned. Are you OK? I guess not. Anything I could do to help? I guess not. Please take care of yourself, those thoughts are really worrying.

Hmm. Well I thought it might be you! I guess LOL would be inappropriate! Who is this person? Strange. And how did you come accross their blog...

Strange indeed.

More than strange, a good deal disturbing.

What cool?!
If they're not caught and made an example out of, Dubai's gonna get a lot worse!

Unfortunately, Dubai is not 'virtually crime-free' whatever the establishment would like you to believe. It is a haven for money-launderers, smugglers and fraudsters. There's also a liberal helping of domestic violence and abuse against children, wives and foreign maids, mostly unreported, to say nothing of criminal abuse of entire workforces. In comparison with these enormities, a ram-raid jewel theft, though certainly antisocial, is pretty small beer. Speaking of which...

you can't judge the basket by one bad apple.. unfortunately to all those who love to moan (not in gratification) having a robbery in a practically unprotected mall where the jewels are there just asking to be taken should not make dubai on par with say south africa in terms of crime.

it's funny how when we hear about those bank robberies every few yrs people seem to gasp a bit then get on with their lives. Robbing banks is harder than breaking a wafi window.
